Det japanske spil magasin Famitsu har haft fingrene i en færdig version af Super Mario Galaxy, og det er der blevet en anmeldelse ud af. Ifølge Famitsu kan vi ånde lettet op - spillet lever fuldt ud op til forventningerne og scorer hele 38 point ud af 40 mulige.
I bladet skriver de blandt andet, at et af spillets forcer er, at det kan spilles af alle og er meget nemt tilgængeligt. Med andre ord fungerer kontrol mulighederne perfekt.
Balancen igennem spillet er også helt i top, det bliver sværere efterhånden som man kommer længere i spillet, men det bliver aldrig for svært.
